TechExpress

ITS has launched TechExpress which is a one-stop portal for several Tech systems you interact with daily. As we move to remote learning, it will become an essential tool for supporting your learning.

Software Available For Home Use During COVID-19

ITS is working with several of our software partners to allow you to install the software you need for a course on your personal machine during COVID-19. Students participating in course that a vendor has provided this provision for will be notified via student email or their instructor.

Current software already available for students is available here.

Microsoft Office is available free to all students. Instructions on install are available here.

Computer Labs - On-Campus & Virtual

On-Campus Computer Labs

  • The Volpe Library Learning Commons computer lab is the only ITS on-campus computer lab that is open. Printing is available in this lab.
  • All other ITS on-campus computer labs are closed and many have been made remotely available in the TechAnywhere virtual computer lab.

Virtual Computer Lab - TechAnywhere

ITS has expanded the TechAnywhere virtual computer lab to aide courses with specialized software dependencies. Please remember to save your files somewhere other than on the virtual lab as files will not be retained. Some software is generally available for student download and more information is available in the above section.

Virtual Group Collaboration - Microsoft Teams & Zoom

Virtual group collaboration will likely be a necessity for some classes. ITS & the CITL have addressed this by making Microsoft Teams and Zoom available to students.

Microsoft Teams

All students now have access to Microsoft Teams. This is a very powerful tool for group collaboration both with video, audio, file-sharing, & group document collaboration. Meeting lengths are not limited as they are with Zoom (see below) - max meeting size of 250 people.

Zoom

All students have access to a free Zoom account. This is a great tool for 1-to-1 meetings of unlimited length or large group meetings for a limited 40 minutes.

Online Supplemental Learning - LinkedIn Learning

All students have access to LinkedIn Learning. This can be used to deep dive through video courses on certain topics you may be learning in class or to expand your personal knowledge.

Outdoor Wi-Fi

For students who may not have a good internet connection and would like to come to campus, ITS has increased outdoor Wi-Fi coverage for EagleNet. This allows students who don't want to enter campus buildings to remain in their car or outdoors in a socially distant way and still take advantage of campus Wi-Fi. Below is a map of the available Wi-Fi coverage for EagleNet.
