You have a desktop, gaming console, or other device in your dorm room or apartment that you would like to connect to the TTU wired network.
NAT Type Restriction
Our campus network, as is most other educational, corporate, or public networks, is a Strict NAT (type 3). This may cause problems with certain online games, dependent upon how the game developers have designed online play to function. If you would like more information on the topic, please check our NAT Type Restrictions on the Tennessee Tech Network page.
How to Connect
If you have a desktop, gaming console, or other devices in your dorm room or apartment that you would like to connect to the TTU wired network, you must first register with the Extreme® Network Access Control.
If you have a device that is not capable of browsing the web, you will need to contact the myTECH Helpdesk for assistance.
- To register a device on the wired network, you'll need to first connect the device to the wired network with an Ethernet cable. Make sure the device is not connected to the wireless network, as this step must be completed specifically on the wired network. Once connected, visit https://nac.tntech.edu/ (it should look like the site below). Here you will input your TTU credentials to 'Login'.
After Logging in, you will be taken to a progress page as your device is registered with our Network Access Control as seen below.
This process may take up to a minute to finish. Please do not navigate away from this page until the registration process is complete.
- Once the registration has finished, you'll see the screen below. If you encounter any issues, please contact the myTECH Helpdesk to get assistance.
