Information about Adobe XI products' end-of-life, and how to continue using Adobe products.

Adobe Acrobat and Reader XI, Prior Versions

As with most software, new versions and products are created with new improvements and are created to replace older ones. Per Adobe, their products Adobe Acrobat XI and Adobe Reader XI stopped receiving security updates and support on October 15, 2017. A link to the official Adobe statement can be found here. Additionally, any versions prior to version 11 is also end of life.

Academic & Client Technologies (ACT) has extended support for colleges and departments while a transition plan was implemented. To continue using versions of Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader beyond version 11, colleges and departments will need to purchase upgrade licenses. If the respective parties are unable or not willing to purchase these licenses, the programs will be uninstalled from affected devices, as they are outside of support and are a continued security risk.

For more questions on this change or information on purchasing upgrade licenses, please contact your ACT ITS Support representative, or the myTECH Helpdesk.
