Tips on how to avoid forgetting your PIN and having to contact the Help Desk for assistance.

What are the requirements for creating/changing my PIN (password)?

When you create your new PIN it must be exactly 6 characters long and contain only alphabetic and numeric characters. The PIN is case sensitive, and special characters are not permitted.

After I changed my PIN (password), I was prompted to enter 3 Security Questions and Answers. What should I enter?

The first time you login to the Eagle Online, you will be required to enter 3 security questions and answers. These 3 questions and answers will allow you to reset your PIN in the event that you cannot remember it. There will be sample questions in the drop down box that you can use, or you can type in your own question and answer. The answer to each question must be entered exactly the same way each time, and the answers are case sensitive, so remember how you entered the answer! (NOTE: If you use a date as your answer, you must format the date the exact same way each time. You can put the format of the date into your question as a reminder. For example, you question could be "Mother's birthday mmddyy." This would be a hint for you to enter your answer as 102654 rather than October 26, 1954.)

You should NEVER use your Tech ID Number (T#), PIN, date of birth, social security number or any other obvious piece of information as your question and answer. Remember, this is your secure access, and you don’t want others to be able to know the answer.

Why do I have to enter 3 Security Questions and Answers?

The Security Questions and Answers are required in order to reset your PIN (password) if you forget it. By having these 3 Questions and Answers set up, you won’t need to contact the Computer Center Help Desk for assistance, and you’ll be able to access Eagle Online.

What do I do if I forget my PIN ?

If you attempt to login 3 times unsuccessfully, your account will be locked and you cannot reset your pin (and you’ll need to contact the Help Desk for assistance). To avoid having to do this, follow these instructions:

  • Go to Eagle Online (www.tntech.edu/eagleonline) and click “Student Services.”
  • Type in your Tech ID Number (T#) as your User ID (Don’t forget the capital T!) and click “Forgot PIN?” button
  • Correctly answer your 3 Security Questions that you set up initially and click “Submit Answers.” No need to contact the Computer Center Help Desk!
  • You’ll then be prompted to enter a new PIN to use when accessing Eagle Online in the future. (Be sure and remember what you create for your PIN!)
